Jobs of the Future: Ethical Hacking

Covid-19 led to large scale digitalisation across organisations, industries and countries. As a result of billions of additional devices getting connected, the scale of cyber crimes has also increased and so has the need for network security.

Cybersecurity jobs as a whole will continue to be in high demand through the 2020s and ethical hacker roles in particular are set to rise by at least 20% by the end of 2023 according to independent industry reports.

As an ethical hacker, you will be a security expert with authorised access to hack into computer systems in order to conduct security assessments and help organisations bolster their cyber security against criminals. In other words, you will be encouraged to think like cyber criminals and get into computer systems maliciously with consent from the organisation, to show the organisation the loopholes in its security. You will be legally protected and will remain within the scope of work defined by the organisation hiring you.

Subject matter experts of ethical hacking have a wide range of computer skills, qualifications and advanced certifications. Some recommended ethical hacking courses are listed here
